Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces viridiflavus was originally described by Witt and Stackebrandt 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 38 in 1991. Euzéby corrected this name from (sic) to . Hatano et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium olivoverticillatum (Shinobu 1956) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2003. established as a later homotypic synonym of (ex Waksman and Taber 1953) Locci and Schofield 1989 in 2017.
