Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 22 in 1986. The species Streptomyces wedmorensis was originally described by Millard and Burr 1926. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1983 the name was revived by Gause et al.. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018.
