Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Streptoverticillium fervens fervens was originally described by Locci et al. 1969. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 86 in 2008. Baldacci and Locci published an emended description of this subspecies in 1974. In 1980, Skerman et al. reduced (de Boer et al. 1960) Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of subspecies.
