The species Streptoverticillium mobaraense was originally described by Locci et al. 1969. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. established as an earlier homotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 pro synon.
