Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 31 in 1989. The species Streptoverticillium sapporonense was originally described by Miyoshi et al. 1972. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1989 the name was revived by Locci and Schofield. established as an earlier homotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1996 pro synon. Streptoverticillium sapporonense (ex Miyoshi et al. 1972) Locci and Schofield 1989 in 2017.
