The species Microbispora diastatica was originally described by Nonomura and Ohara 1960. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Miyadoh et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Nonomura and Ohara 1957) Miyadoh et al. 1991 in 1990.
