Nomenclatural History
The species Microtetraspora rubra was originally described by Kroppenstedt et al. 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 36 in 1991. Kroppenstedt et al. formed this name in 1990 by placing the species (Sveshnikova et al. 1969) Meyer and Sveshnikova 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Thiemann et al. 1968 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Zhang et al. 1998. In 1998, Zhang et al. established as the basonym of corrig. (Sveshnikova et al. 1969) Zhang et al. 1998 .
