Nomenclatural History
The species Microtetraspora salmonea was originally described by Kroppenstedt et al. 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 36 in 1991. Kroppenstedt et al. formed this name in 1990 by placing the species Preobrazhenskaya et al. 1975 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Thiemann et al. 1968 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Zhang et al. 1998. In 1998, Zhang et al. established as the basonym of corrig. (Preobrazhenskaya et al. 1975) Zhang et al. 1998 .
