The species Nonomuraea flexuosa was originally described and validly published by Zhang et al. 1998. Chiba et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . Zhang et al. formed this name in 1998 by placing the species (Meyer 1989) Kroppenstedt et al. 1991 into the genus (sic) Zhang et al. 1998 emend. Cao et al. 2019 corrig. Zhang et al. 1998 emend. Cao et al. 2019. In 2005, Goodfellow et al. established as the basonym of (Meyer 1989) Goodfellow et al. 2005 .
