Nomenclatural History
The species Actinomadura rugatobispora was originally described by Miyadoh et al. 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 36 in 1991. Miyadoh et al. formed this name in 1990 by placing the species Miyadoh et al. 1985 into the genus Lechevalier and Lechevalier 1970 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Zhao et al. 2015.

The epithet rugatobispora replaces viridis to avoid homonymy.
