Nomenclatural History
|
The species Bifidobacterium coryneforme was originally described by Scardovi and Trovatelli 1969. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1982 the name was revived and validly published by Biavati et al.. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Nouioui et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Bifidobacterium indicum Scardovi and Trovatelli 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
in 2018.
