Nomenclatural History
The species Bifidobacterium gallinarum was originally described and validly published by Watabe et al. 1983. Liu et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. In 2018, Nouioui et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Watabe et al. 1983) Nouioui et al. 2018 . Liu et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Biavati et al. 1992 in 2020. In 2020, Liu et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Watabe et al. 1983) Liu et al. 2020 .
