Nomenclatural History
The class Chlamydiae was originally proposed by Cavalier-Smith 2002. This name was placed onto the nomina taxorum rejicienda by Judicial Opinion 79 in 2005. Oren and Garrity replaced this illegitimate name with (Cavalier-Smith 2002) Horn 2016 emend. Gupta et al. 2015 in 2016.
