Nomenclatural History
The family Chlamydiaceae was originally proposed by Rake 1957. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Everett et al. published an emended description of this family in 1999. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Sachse et al. in 2015.
