Nomenclatural History
The species Bacteroides suis was originally described by Benno et al. 1983. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 12 in 1983. García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019. Sakamoto et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Benno et al. 1983 emend. Sakamoto et al. 2010 in 2010.
