Nomenclatural History
The species Prevotella oulorum was originally described and validly published by Shah and Collins 1990. International Committee on Systematic Bacteriology Subcommittee on Gram-Negative Anaerobic Rods corrected this name from (sic) to . García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019. Shah and Collins formed this name in 1990 by placing the species Shah et al. 1985 into the genus Shah and Collins 1990 emend. Sakamoto and Ohkuma 2012.
