Nomenclatural History
The species Flavobacterium aquatile was originally described by Bergey et al. 1923. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Lee et al. published an emended description of this species in 2012. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Sheu et al. in 2013, Hahnke et al. in 2016, Weeks in 1955 and Bernardet et al. in 1996.
