Nomenclatural History
The species Flavobacterium branchiophilum was originally described and validly published by Wakabayashi et al. 1989. Von Gravenitz corrected this name from (sic) to . Bernardet et al. published an emended description of this species in 1996. A subsequent emendation was proposed by García-López et al. in 2019.
