Nomenclatural History
The species Flavobacterium columnare was originally described and validly published by Bernardet et al. 1996. LaFrentz et al. published an emended description of this species in 2021. Bernardet et al. formed this name in 1996 by placing the species (ex Davis 1922) Bernardet and Grimont 1989 into the genus Bergey et al. 1923 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Dong et al. 2013.
