Nomenclatural History
|
The species Flavobacterium xanthum was originally described by Inoue and Komagata 1976. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 2000 the name was revived and validly published by McCammon and Bowman. García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019.
