The species Chryseobacterium miricola was originally described by Li et al. 2003. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 96 in 2004. In 2005, Kim et al. established as the basonym of (Li et al. 2004) Kim et al. 2005 emend. Nicholson et al. 2018 .
