Nomenclatural History

The species Chryseobacterium scophthalmum was originally described and validly published by Vandamme et al. 1994. García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Heidler von Heilborn et al. in 2022. Vandamme et al. formed this name in 1994 by placing the species
Flavobacterium scophthalmum Mudarris et al. 1994
into the genus Chryseobacterium Vandamme et al. 1994 emend. Heidler von Heilborn et al. 2022.
