Nomenclatural History
|
The species Sphingobacterium spiritivorum was originally described and validly published by Yabuuchi et al. 1983. Lai et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. Yabuuchi et al. formed this name in 1983 by placing the species
Flavobacterium spiritivorum Holmes et al. 1982
into the genus Sphingobacterium Yabuuchi et al. 1983 emend. Choi and Lee 2012. Takeuchi and Yokota established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Flavobacterium yabuuchiae Holmes et al. 1988
in 1992.
