Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Cytophaga was originally proposed by Winogradsky 1929. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Leadbetter published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nakagawa and Yamasato in 1996.
