Nomenclatural History
The genus Roseivirga was originally proposed and validly published by Nedashkovskaya et al. 2005. Nedashkovskaya et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2005. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Nedashkovskaya et al. in 2008 and Selvaratnam et al. in 2016. Nedashkovskaya et al. transferred the members of Yoon et al. 2005 into this genus in 2005.
