Nomenclatural History
The genus Winogradskyella was originally proposed and validly published by Nedashkovskaya et al. 2005. Ivanova et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2010. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Yoon et al. in 2011, Nedashkovskaya et al. in 2012 and Begum et al. in 2013.
