Nomenclatural History
|
The species Phytoplasma australasia was originally described by White et al. 1998. Oren et al. corrected this name from Candidatus Phytoplasma australasia (sic) to Candidatus Phytoplasma australasiaticum .
This taxon is not retained, because it is too similar to Candidatus Phytoplasma aurantifolia. (See Firrao et al. 2004).
