Nomenclatural History
The genus Micropolyspora was originally proposed by Lechevalier et al. 1961. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Cross published an emended description of this genus in 1974. Goodfellow and Pirouz transferred the members of this genus into Trevisan 1889 emend. McClung 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1982.
