Nomenclatural History
The genus Thermobacteroides was originally proposed by Ben-Bassat and Zeikus 1981. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 11 in 1983. Ollivier et al. published an emended description of this genus in 1985. Rainey and Stackebrandt transferred the members of this genus into Wiegel and Ljungdahl 1982 emend. Lee et al. 2007 in 1993.
