Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 15 in 1984. The genus Grahamella was originally proposed by Brumpt 1911. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived by Ristic and Kreier. Birtles et al. transferred the members of this genus into Strong et al. 1915 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Birtles et al. 1995 in 1995.
