Nomenclatural History
The species Haloincola saccharolyticus was originally described by Zhilina et al. 1992. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 42 in 1992. Euzéby corrected this name from (sic) to . Cayol et al. published an emended description of this species in 1994. In 1994, Cayol et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form corrig. (Zhilina et al. 1992) Cayol et al. 1994 . In 1995, Rainey et al. established as the basonym of corrig. (Zhilina et al. 1992) Rainey et al. 1995 .
