Nomenclatural History	The species Halorubrobacterium saccharovorum was originally described by Kamekura and Dyall-Smith 1995. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 57 in 1996. Kamekura and Dyall-Smith formed this name in 1995 by placing the species Halobacterium saccharovorum Tomlinson and Hochstein 1977 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Halorubrum McGenity and Grant 1996 emend. Oren et al. 2009. Oren and Ventosa established Halorubrobacterium saccharovorum as a later homotypic synonym of Halorubrum saccharovorum (Tomlinson and Hochstein 1977) McGenity and Grant 1996 in 1996.
