Nomenclatural History
The species Syntrophomonas erecta was originally described and validly published by Zhang et al. 2005. Wu et al. published an emended description of this species in 2006. In 2006, Wu et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Zhang et al. 2005) Wu et al. 2006 .
