Nomenclatural History
The species Alkaliflexus imshenetskii was originally described by Zhilina et al. 2004. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 104 in 2005. Hahnke et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. This name replaces the name Sass et al. 2004 .
