The species Tetrathiobacter kashmirensis was originally described and validly published by Ghosh et al. 2005. In 2009, Gibello et al. established Tetrathiobacter kashmirensis as the basonym of
Advenella kashmirensis (Ghosh et al. 2005) Gibello et al. 2009 emend. Shmareva et al. 2016
