Nomenclatural History
The genus Palleronia was originally proposed and validly published by Martínez-Checa et al. 2005. Albuquerque et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2015. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Kim et al. in 2015 and Barnier et al. in 2020.

The 2015 emendations occurred in the following order Albuquerque et al. 2015 (February 2015), Kim et al. 2015 (August 2015).
