Nomenclatural History
The species Aquimarina latercula was originally described and validly published by Nedashkovskaya et al. 2006. García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019. Nedashkovskaya et al. formed this name in 2006 by placing the species (Lewin 1969) Nedashkovskaya et al. 2005 into the genus Nedashkovskaya et al. 2005 emend. Lee et al. 2017.
