Nomenclatural History
The species Roseivirga seohaensis was originally described and validly published by Lau et al. 2006. Selvaratnam et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. A subsequent emendation was proposed by García-López et al. in 2019. Lau et al. formed this name in 2006 by placing the species Yoon et al. 2005 into the genus Nedashkovskaya et al. 2005 emend. Selvaratnam et al. 2016. Nedashkovskaya et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Nedashkovskaya et al. 2005 emend. Hahnke et al. 2016 in 2008. In 2016, Selvaratnam et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Yoon et al. 2005) Selvaratnam et al. 2016 .

Roseivirga seohaensis comb. nov. is proposed in Selvaratnam et al. 2016 but it should be an emendation of Roseivirga seohaensis as Roseivirga seohaensis comb. nov. was already proposed and validly published in Lau et al. 2006.
