Lechner et al. 2007 placed this genus within the Betaproteobacteria (intermediate taxa are not designated at the time). Sheu et al. 2019 later grouped this genus with "Rubrivivax–Roseateles–Leptothrix–Ideonella–Aquabacterium", which would place it in the Comamonadaceae.
