Nomenclatural History

The species Hyphomonas hirschiana was originally described and validly published by Weiner et al. 1985. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Li et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Hyphomonas neptunium (Leifson 1964) Moore et al. 1984 emend. Li et al. 2014
in 2014.
