Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 68 in 1999. The species Stappia aggregata was originally described by Ahrens 1968. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1998 the name was revived by Uchino et al.. In 2007, Biebl et al. established as the basonym of (Uchino et al. 1999) Biebl et al. 2007 . In 2020, Hördt et al. established as the basonym of (Uchino et al. 1999) Hördt et al. 2020 .
