The species Dictyoglomus turgidus was originally described by Svetlichny and Svetlichnayá 1988. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 55 in 1995. Euzéby corrected this name from Dictyoglomus turgidus (sic) to Dictyoglomus turgidum .
