The species Bacillus aryabhattai was originally described and validly published by Shivaji et al. 2009. Rao et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of de Bary 1884 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Rao et al. 2019 in 2019. In 2020, Gupta et al. established as the basonym of (Shivaji et al. 2009) Gupta et al. 2020 .
