Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Staphylococcus petrasii petrasii was originally described by Pantůček et al. 2013. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 152 in 2013. In 2013, Pantůček et al. reduced Pantůček et al. 2013 emend. Madhaiyan et al. 2020 to the rank of subspecies. Madhaiyan et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (De Bel et al. 2013) De Bel et al. 2014 in 2020.
