Nomenclatural History
The species Pseudothermotoga elfii was originally described by Bhandari and Gupta 2014. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 158 in 2014. Belahbib et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Bhandari and Gupta formed this name in 2014 by placing the species Ravot et al. 1995 into the genus Bhandari and Gupta 2014 emend. Belahbib et al. 2018.
