Nomenclatural History
The species Halorientalis persicus was originally described and validly published by Amoozegar et al. 2014. Cui et al. corrected this name from (sic) to .

The name Halorientalis persicus Amoozegar et al. 2014 is incorrect as the genus name has the feminine gender. Correction to Halorientalis persica will be proposed in the upcoming chapter on the genus Halorientalis in Bergey’s Manual of Systematics of Archaea and Bacteria. After effective publication of the corrected name, validation will be requested.
