The family Prolixibacteraceae was originally proposed and validly published by Huang et al. 2014. Iino et al. published an emended description of this family in 2014. Iino et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Draconibacteriaceae Du et al. 2014
in 2014.
