Nomenclatural History
The genus Nonhongiella was originally proposed by Wang et al. 2013. This name was validly published by Oren and Garrity 2015. Upon validation, this name was corrected from (sic) to . Park et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2014. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Xu et al. in 2016.

Wang et al. 2014 proposed renaming the genus Nonhongiella as Pseudohongiella in order to correct an imprecision in the formation of the genus name Nonhongiella.
