The species Pseudomonas paucimobilis was originally described by Holmes et al. 1977. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1990, Yabuuchi et al. established as the basonym of (Holmes et al. 1977) Yabuuchi et al. 1990 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 .
