The species Burkholderia ginsengiterrae was originally described by Farh et al. 2015. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 166 in 2015. In 2016, Dobritsa and Samadpour established as the basonym of (Farh et al. 2015) Dobritsa and Samadpour 2016 emend. Dobritsa et al. 2016 .
